Bihar MBBS Admission 2024-25: Eligibility Criteria

•   Educational Qualification

                     Candidate must have passed 12th class examination of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination of 12th class.

                     Candidates with physical disabilities in the general category must get at least a 45% aggregate in their Class 12 exams, while candidates with disabilities in the reserved categories must earn at least a 40% aggregate.

                     The minimal NEET cut-off percentile specified by CBSE must be achieved in order for a candidate to be admitted to the MBBS/BDS programme in Rajasthan.

•   Guidelines for Natives / Domicile Holders

                     The following criteria must be met by applicants who seek to be considered for admission under the 85% state quota for MBBS and BDS admissions in Bihar

                     One whose parent(s) is a permanent resident of India.

                     Candidates whose parent(s) are refugees in the Bihar state.

                     Candidates whose one of parents is not a permanent resident of the state but working for the Government of Bihar.

                     The parents of students who are in a transferable job in Bihar and Jharkhand state.

                     The candidate’s parents should be working in the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the Government of India.

                     Candidates whose parent/s are working with the United Nations and are recruited in Bihar.

•   Age Limit

                     Applicants must meet the age requirements set out by the administration in order to be considered for admission to Bihar medical colleges

                     Minimum age of 17 as of December 31, 2024

•   Students who are children of State or Central Government employees, who are staying abroad on deputation period are considered as NRI
•   Students must belong to Indian origin and live or study in a foreign country.
•   Indian citizens’ children staying abroad for business or employment are also considered as NRI
•   Candidates who are born abroad but the parents are of Indian origin fall under the NRI category

The preference for admission under NRI category shall be considered as follows:

•   Actual NRIs/OCIs/PIOs candidates or children/wards of NRIs/OCIs/PIOs who originally belong to the State of BIHARor any Indian state and union territory.
•   NRI-Sponsor: If the first-degree relation of the student is an NRI and residing abroad, and the candidate meets the following conditions:
•                 He/she should be the nearest relation.
•                 The nearest relation includes the following blood relations:
•                 Real brother and sister of father (real uncle and aunt).
•                 Real brother and sister of mother (real maternal uncle and maternal aunt).
•                 Father and mother of father (grandfather and grandmother).
•                 Father and mother of mother (maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother).
•                 First-degree paternal and maternal cousins.
•                 The NRI sponsor should be ordinarily residing abroad.
